John J Cush, MD


John J. Cush, MD is currently the Director of Clinical Rheumatology for the Baylor Research Institute and Professor of Medicine and Rheumatology at the Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, TX.

Dr. Cush received his medical training from St. George’s University School of Medicine (Grenada, West Indies), Coney Island Hospital (Brooklyn, NY) and the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School (Dallas, TX).  Dr. Cush has authored two textbooks on rheumatology and rheumatoid arthritis.  He has published more than 110 journal articles and numerous book chapters on topics that include rheumatoid arthritis, spondyloarthropathies, adult-onset Still’s disease, biologic therapies, drug safety and nutraceuticals.

His prime clinical and research interests include drug safety, biologic therapies and medical education.  He has served on the Arthritis Advisory Committee of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and is the past editor of the American College of Rheumatology (ACR) Hotline series and is the current editor of the ACR Drug Safety Quarterly publication.
